Do you have any of the following body problems:

Let’s look at what’s going on with each of these problems:

If you’re overweight, the first step to reducing excess baggage is just to increase the QUALITY of your food, that means get off the tragic foods, and get on the foods which are Magic!

What’s great about this, is that you actually eat more high-quality vegetables and superfoods, and don’t feel hungry, and don’t even feel like you’re dieting! My most successful students in this regard have lost as much as 30kg (70lb) of lard in a single year, kept it off, and enjoyed the process.

TOO SKINNY

We must get at least one email per month from people saying that they have slimmed down a bit since eating healthier, but now they’re so skinny, they can nearly slide under a closed door!

Then they ask whether they should be adding blocks of (cancer causing, bone fracture causing) cheese on top of their salads to try and fatten themselves up a bit!

The basic issue there is you have to make a distinction between healthy weight and unhealthy weight.

Healthy weight is:

  • Muscle
  • Bone
  • Blood

Unhealthy weight is:

  • Cellulite
  • Body fat
  • Pimples
  • Puss
  • Tumours
  • Fibroids
  • Cysts
  • Constipation
  • Water retention

When overweight people lose some of this lot, they are delighted! But when already skinny people lose the inevitable unhealthy weight, which they will when they improve their diet, they’re concerned they are becoming so skinny that they will disappear!

The only thing that’s healthy that you can actually grow is your muscles! And your muscle size, or lack of them will be a direct reflection of the amount of physical demand you put on them. If you don’t lift much, you just won’t have big strong muscles from tapping on a computer keyboard!

We need to lift hard and heavy weights preferably in the gym with dumbbells and barbells.

If you are ‘too skinny’, this is your problem; you need to get yourself a personal trainer in the gym to teach you a basic hard and heavy barbell and dumbbell routine. A 45 minutes weights workout with a personal trainer, completed twice a week is sufficient.

You also need to increase your healthy protein intake, which I teach here: Sexy Body, Invincible Health but in short, more hemp seeds and more fish consumption.

THE STICKING POINT WHERE FAT WON’T SHIFT 

Have you got to a sticking point where you can’t lose any more fat?

Too drastic a cut down in calories, too soon, shuts down your metabolism and makes it very difficult to lose fat thereafter. The correct way to lose fat is to gradually tighten up the screws in your diet and exercise and tease the fat off gradually, only tightening up another notch more when the fat loss halts.

  1. Hi Peter, Good informative and enjoyable post!

    It’s been a few years since I attended your classes and although I’m not raw anymore I’ve learned a huge amount from you 🙂

    Is there an ideal body fat % or is it to some degree dependent upon our body types (some people are naturally heavier than others…?) I guess I’m around 12-15 and working on increasing my lean muscle mass through bodyweight exercises, I don’t feel the need to loose any more body fat…

    Also do you know that Jeffry, although he looks great, is CEO of a life extension company (I forget which off the top of my head) where they advocate testosterone shots for men of a certain age… And his predecessor died of a heart attack in his 60’s or early 70’s… Just wondering what your view is on that form of life extension?
    (Sorry no links or citations, as I have work to get done!)

    • Hi Simon
      12% – 15% body fat is definitely the upper healthy limit for a MAN, and a very health percentage to maintain your body at. The data shows that if a MAN lowers his body fat % to the high single digit figures, he is likely to further slow down his rate of ageing, and reduce risk of disease, with no negative effect.

      Jeffry is a shining example of taking charge of his health and being an advocate of robust healthy living.       • Hi Peter, thanks for your response.

        I understand the need to additional hormones later in life but wasn’t sure what your take on it was, though I know you’re aiming for a very ripe old age 😉

        Icing on the cake is a good point as there seems little point to top up sub-optimal hormone levels if you’re heading to an early grave for other reasons!

        I’ve got a body fat % print out somewhere, which I should find as just guessing at my composition, but I’m pretty skinny 🤓

        What are your thoughts on intermittent fasting and (juice) cleansing while continuing the usual western diet the majority of the time?

  2. HI Simon,
    not true about me aiming for a “very ripe old age” – I’m actually aiming for raw youthfulness for a very long time! Ha Haaa! So far I am on track as verified by many tests.

    The latest studies show that intermittent fasting (IF) is much more beneficial than the same calorific consumption spread daily over the month.

    But IF and the usual western diet?! NOOOOOOO!
    Millions of westerners die prematurely each and every year because of malnutrition (typically whilst being overfed) and IF would only further increase death rates in the malnourished.

    The animal data on calorie reduction (CR) of which IF is a strategy, shows that only the animals that simultaneously increase nutrition get the benefits, the rest die prematurely of being malnourished and underfed, or overfed. I’m covering all this lot in detail on Saturday 28th November.

    As a step in the right direction, I am proposing that most people have a more moderate weekly “detox day” which is a day for increased nutrition and lowering calories comprising of; green leaf juices, green salads and internal detoxification with chemical and heavy metal chelation.
